Reports to: Responsible for:
Resources Director (RD) and through the RD to the Board and its Committee(s). All staff responsible for the delivery of Human Resources, Learning and Development.
Purpose & Key Responsibilities: Main duties:
To ensure that the commitment of being tenant led and the vision of mission and values influence every aspect of the business Working with the senior management and staff, contribute to the effective management of the organisation and the delivery of strategies, plans and targets.
To facilitate the provision of a high quality standard of housing and services, especially the Red Kite Standard, constantly striving to meet changing demands Applying effective team leadership to ensure that the service is responsive to the changing and challenging external environment and internal priorities.
To provide effective leadership and direction to ensure the achievement of Red Kite's HR and OD strategies Ensure that appropriate and effective relationships and networks are established and maintained to achieve the successful delivery of the defined Human Resources function.
To ensure the effective delivery of a comprehensive operational and strategic HR and OD service to the Red Kite Board, Management and employees. To initiate, develop, implement and continuously improve staffing related policies and procedures that reflect best practice including: recruitment and selection, equality and diversity, pay and reward, terms and conditions and training and development.
To lead, manage and empower the HR team to provide a first class, professional OD service to the organisation. Support and assist the Resources Director and Executive Team in the preparation and review of business plans and organisational plans ensuring that the organisation receives professional Human Resources support and guidance contributing to the capability and effectiveness to achieve its strategic and operational objectives.
To ensure that staff are recruited, developed, retained and motivated to work effectively and contribute to Red Kite achieving its objectives.
Contribute to effective staffing communications including consulting and negotiating with staff and trade union representatives and monitoring and developing a positive employee relations climate in the organisation.
Ensure that a training and development strategy is in place and delivered which supports the organisations business and organisational plans.
Initiate, develop and implement appropriate systems to contribute to performance management and improvement ensuring that effective policies, procedures and tools are in place.
Ensure that a communication strategy and marketing strategy are in place and delivered which supports the organisation's business and organisational plans.
Arrange for regular staff satisfaction surveys or other measures of culture and morale. With an editorial team to produce and keep under review the tenants newsletter and ensure it meets expected best practice standards, and responds to the needs of tenants and leaseholders.

Head of Finance - Role Profile

Purpose & Key Responsibilities: Main duties:
To ensure that the commitment of being tenant led and the vision of mission and values influence every aspect of the business. Working with the senior management and staff, contributing to the effective management of the organisation and the delivery of strategies, plans and targets, using appropriate finance, accounting and business systems.
To facilitate the provision of a high quality standard of housing and services, especially the Red Kite Standard, constantly striving to meet changing demands. Applying effective team leadership to ensure that the service is responsive to the changing and challenging external environment and internal priorities.
To oversee the operation of the finance section within the Resources Directorate ensuring that Red Kite delivers a 'first' class finance function to both internal and external customers and stakeholders. Ensure that appropriate and effective relationships and networks are established and maintained to achieve the successful delivery of the defined finance and business services functions.
To lead the finance team ensuring that it delivers a first class accounting services, risk management and insurance services to all its customers. To initiate, develop, implement and continuously improve finance and accounting related policies and procedures that reflect best practice.
To ensure best practice is followed at all times within the department ensuring compliance with financial regulations', regulatory requirements, internal controls and procedures and national and international accounting standards in so much as they apply to Red Kite. Support and assist the Resources Director and Management Team in the preparation and review of business plans and organisational plans.
To Lead the Finance team in providing customer focussed services. To lead the Finance Team and ensure that the Team delivers a first class accounting service to both internal and external users.
To ensure that Red Kite's finance systems are kept up to date with technological advances and best practice. Provide advice on financial matters to business units as required.
  Ensure that the key control account reconciliation and finance processes are effectively carried out by the Finance Team in accordance with agreed deadlines and that monthly management accounts are produced for all business units within agreed timescales.
  Take the lead in Red Kite for the planning and completion of the year end statutory accounts and related external audit process within the agreed timescale. Ensure that the auditors are provided with a high standard of information and support to minimise the cost and disruption to the audit process.
  Ensure all regulatory and stakeholder returns are completed and submitted within the agreed timescale.
  Manage the day-to-day treasury activities of Red Kite in accordance with the Treasury Policy Statement and Practices and under guidance from the Resources Director.
  Take the lead role in the planning and execution of the annual budget process. Assist the Resources Director with the development and implementation of Red Kite's long term financial plans.
  In conjunction with the Resources Director, develop and maintain financial policies and take the lead role in updating financial procedures to ensure they reflect the current standing orders and financial regulations.
  Lead on training and instructing all staff on compliance with budgetary and financial controls.
  Assist the Resources Director to develop and maintain the risk management framework for the business and be responsible for the administration and liaison with the insurance providers. Ensure all staff as appropriate are trained in respect of insurance claims procedures.
  Initiate, develop and implement appropriate systems to contribute to performance management and improvement ensuring that there effective policies, procedures and tools in place.
  To take an active role in the development and monitoring of the Association's risk management procedures.

Purpose & Key Responsibilities: Main duties:
To ensure that the commitment of being tenant led and the vision of mission and values influence every aspect of the business. Prepare an effective ICT disaster recovery plan, and ensure that this is regularly reviewed, updated and tested.
To facilitate the provision of a high quality standard of housing and services, especially the Red Kite Standard, constantly striving to meet changing demands. To take an active role in the development and monitoring of the Association's risk management procedures.
Ensuring that the organisation receives professional ICT and business services support and guidance, contributing to Red Kite's capability and effectiveness to achieve its strategic and operational objectives. Ensure that the network is secure from internal and external security breaches.
The design, development and implementation of Red Kite's ICT infrastructure and systems to support the business needs of the organisation. Initiate, develop and implement appropriate systems to contribute to performance management and business improvement initiatives in line with the commitment of being tenant led and the organisation's vision, mission and values ensuring that there effective policies, procedures and tools in place.

To facilitate the provision of a high quality standard of housing and services, especially the Red Kite Standard, constantly striving to meet changing demands. To provide a focal point for Red Kite's internal and external communications activities ensuring all communications support the delivery of business plan objectives. Overall purpose:
Taking a full role in the leadership, performance and achievement of excellence and development in all areas of Red Kite's work, in particular the work of the Property and Development Directorate, ensuring that our commitment to being tenant led and our vision, mission and values influence every aspect of our business.
Principle responsibilities - The Property Services and Development Director will ensure that: Main duties:
The Board and Executive Management Team have the information and advice required, particularly in relation to all property and development activities, to control Red Kite's affairs and achieve a high level of governance, financial security and probity. Ensure that the property and development professional affairs are properly controlled, that financial security is maintained and enhanced and all professional activities are in accordance with legal, regulatory and professional best practice.
Red Kite's work is planned, executed, controlled, and monitored effectively to meet all of its objectives; protecting and maximising resources. Provide strategic and operational property investment and management, asset strategy, contract management, procurement, health and safety compliance, business development and related financial, risk, performance and advice to the Executive Management Team and Board.
Red Kite continues to be a successful tenant led organisation which is demonstrated in its development, services and behaviours. Optimise the management of Red Kite's properties including appropriate opportunities for partnering, performance management and business development.
